Wedding Information

Location: Burritt Museum and Historic Park

Constructed in 1936 and willed to the city of Huntsville in 1955, Burritt Museum is not only Huntsville’s oldest museum, but also the site of special Davis family memories…and the place where Billy asked Katie’s parents for their marriage blessing.  The grounds include a small wedding chapel which will serve as the site for the private family wedding, an expansive lawn for our tent reception and games, and a village of 19th century North Alabama cabins, each furnished according to the period and open to guests.  Children and the young at heart might also get a kick out of the barnyard that is home to a number of animals that would have been part of a rural North Alabama home in the late 1800’s.  Spring should be the perfect time to greet the baby sheep and chicks.  The grounds face west, so weather permitting we should also enjoy a May sunset over the city of Huntsville.

We are planning a tent reception with barbeque dinner, so please dress for outdoor fun and dining.  Temperatures on the mountain are a little cooler than in Huntsville proper, so a light sweater might be appropriate for the evening hours.
